Click on the links below and you'll find some learning ideas as well as some handy revision guides, fun activities and exciting games.

As you all know, we love a challenge in Upper Key Stage 2. Below is a checklist that we want you to try and complete every day.

  • 9:00am PE session with Joe Wicks, Change for Life or another PE Activity (link found below)
  • Attempt your Mathletics Challenges - You can also check out the daily White Rose Maths Challenges (look out for the new puzzles also)
  • Break time (don’t forget your healthy snack)
  • Attempt your Education City Challenges 
  • Brush up on your English skills with some of the challenges below - Don't forget about your weekly spellings.
  • Help your parents or carers with one job (e.g. washing up, tidying your room)
  • Lunch time (remember – we clear our own things away)
  • Complete tasks from one of the Topic Grids, BBC Bitesize, Charanga Music or Transum Logo
  • Sing your hearts out 'The Power in Me'
  • Enjoy some active time in your Garden

Also remember your health and hygiene - wash your hands (before food, after you have been playing out and after going to the toilet)

On 2nd June 2020 - you are invited along with families and children from across the world by joining together to sing “The Power in Me” from the safety of your own homes.

You can register your involvement at to access learning resources for the song. 

In the weeks leading up to the main event on 2nd June, you are encouraged to take part in the #PowerInMe singing challenge and to film yourselves singing the song’s lyrics “I've got the Power In Me" and post it online with the hashtag to see who responds completing the song’s chorus "You’ve got the Power in You!".

Have you got the power?



This week is the Mental Health Awareness week and their theme is: kindness. The charity, place2be, have decided to take part and have developed some great resources. 

'Throw kindness around like confetti'.

  1. Visit Miss Steer's YouTube channel and enjoy some of her BEAST mode mindfulness videos. 
  2. Write a special thank you note to someone who has done something nice for you. 
  3. Create a hand print kindness heart with your family.
  4. Make a list of things that you could do to be kind. 
  5. Draw a picture of yourself - write a description all about you and your good qualities. 
  6. Make a kindness chain - write each act of kindness you do on a strip of paper and make the longest paper chain you can. 
  7. Write a postcard to a friend, neighbour or someone at your local care home to brighten their day. You could add a picture of something that could make them smile. 
  8. Create your own recipe about a 'good friend' 


Online Safety

 As lots of children are working on the computer, keeping them safe is really important. Please use the information and resources below to promote safety to your child. 


ThinkUKnow have created a page to support parents and young people online. The site includes home activity packs with simple 15 minute activities support children's understanding of online safety at a time.

Be SMART - Childnet

Childnet have released six new easy-to-follow videos for parents and children to work through together. The 10 - 15 minute videos offer simple, clear online safety advice using fun activities, games and discussion. There are optional follow-up activities to extend children's learning.

We have practised lots of programming and debugging in our computing lessons at school. Can you complete the challenges on Transum Logo using the skills that you know. You can try different challenges and levels when you feel confident.

Florence Nightingale

Tuesday 12th May 2020, marks her 200th birthday, and we would love the children to celebrate that.

  1. Design/make a cake to celebrate Florence's birthday - recipe here
  2. Design/make a cupcake to celebrate Florence's birthday - recipe here.
  3. Make a birthday day for Florence - template here.
  4. Research and then create a fact file about Florence Nightingale. 
  5. Complete the Florence Nightingale wordsearch. 
  6. Read 'The Lady with the Lamp' poem - now, try to write your own!
  7. Learn about Florence Nightingale through this informative video.
  8. Think about the newly opened 'Nightingale' hospitals - write about why they were named that, their importance, etc. 
  9. Read and act out this play script (get your family involved!)

Task 8 Dress up as someone from the 1940s – armed forces, land girl, famous figure and/or design a new uniform for one of the armed forces to wear.
