Welcome to Normanton Common Primary School, Normanton
Normanton Common Primary School is a community co-educational school for children from 3 to 11 years of age.Built in 1999, our modern accommodation provides a stimulating environment for learning. Classrooms are light and attractive and we have plenty of outdoor space for our pupils to enjoy.
Situated about 5 miles north-east of Wakefield, the school is set back from Castleford Road in its own grounds, one mile from Junction 31 of the M62.
The school has approximately 300 full-time pupils plus our very popular Nursery for children aged 3 to 4.
We pride ourselves on our strong caring ethos - staff and parents work closely to make a positive contribution to the personal development and attainment of our pupils.
A thriving breakfast club operates at the school and we run a wide variety of after school clubs including badminton, football, choir, chess and netball.
Our 2008 Ofsted report stated: “The good curriculum, with its strong emphasis on music and sport, is enriched by a wide range of visits, visitors and after-school clubs and events."
We are part of the Normanton family of schools. The majority of our pupils go to Freeston Business and Enterprise College when they leave us and we work closely with Freeston to prepare our pupils for the next stage of their education.
We welcome visits from all prospective parents and pupils - we look forward to meeting you.
